-Edit and finalize college essay -Review college list with Katie and update list in Naviance -Review and record application deadlines -Note requirements for colleges of choice (testing, interview, portfolio, etc) -Create master college to do list with the information above -Register for October SAT if applicable September -Schedule college visits and interviews (add to master list) -Complete the Common Application -Take ACT test if applicable -Register for November ACT or SAT if applicable October -Take SAT if applicable -Complete and submit all early action/decision applications by October 30th -Finish college visits with family -Go online and submit SAT and/or ACT scores to colleges if applicable November -Take ACT or SAT if applicable -Complete applications with January/February deadlines -Create college portal login tracking sheet and confirm your applications are complete December -Complete and submit applications with Jan/Feb deadlines -Responses from early decision/action should be arriving January/February -Complete FAFSA/CSS forms (at home) -Complete scholarship applications -Complete and submit rolling admission applications March/April -Discuss acceptance options: consider financial aid packages, scholarships, individual academic/emotional profile to find the best fit -Visit your top 2-3 colleges again May -Choose college by May 1st National Deadline and send enrollment deposit and housing request -Contact student support services- NEA will assist with this -Notify other colleges that you will not be attending -Contact wait-listed colleges and notify them if you'd like to remain on or be removed from the list June -GRADUATE!!! |
